Q: What is the Rise Up PR competition?
A: It is a team-based initiative dedicated to bridging the gap between public relations education and industry requirements for UK PR students.

A: The competition is run by PRmoment.
Q: Is there a fee to enter?
A: No, the competition is FREE to enter.
Q: Who is the competition brief from?
A: The Live Brief is provided by Macmillan Cancer Support and can be found in the Rise Up PR entry kit.
Eligibility and Entry
Q: Who is eligible to enter?
A: The competition is open to UK PR students.
Q: How many students should be on a team?
A: Entries must be submitted by a team of two students.
Q: What is the main task for the competition?
A: Teams must deliver a response to the Live Brief , which culminates in a 20-minute pitch to an independent jury.
Q: How do we register?
A: You must register for a team account on the Rise Up PR website.
Q: What is the deadline to register a team?
A: The Team Registration Deadline is Friday 30 January 2026.
Q: What is the deadline for the final submission (pitch deck and entry form)?
A: The upload deadline is Thursday 5 March 2026.
Q: What are the file requirements for the submission?
A: The pitch deck should be a maximum of 4Mb and in .pdf format only. The entry form should also be a maximum of 4Mb, in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format.
Key Dates and Support
Q: When are the Live Pitches?
A: The Live Pitches are scheduled for Tuesday 10 March 2026.
Q: When will the winners be announced?
A: Winners will be revealed at the winner's lunch in central London on Tuesday 17 March 2026.
Q: Is mentoring available?
A: Yes, each team is supported by three 1-hour mentoring sessions with an experienced PR professional to get guidance and feedback on their campaign plans.
Q: When does mentoring start?
A: Mentor and team introductions will happen on Tuesday 3 February 2026. Teams can arrange to meet with their mentor virtually 3 times over the 6-week period of February/early March 2026 for pitch development.
Prizes
Q: What is the cash prize for the winning team?
A: The 1st place team receives £1000 per team.
Q: What are the other prizes for the top 3 teams?
A: All top 3 teams receive:
- A cash prize (£1000, £500, or £250 per team).
- A Paid Internship with a top PR employer.
- Mentoring from experienced PR professionals.
Q: When are the internships?
A: Internship dates are flexible and tailored to employer/student needs.
